Terms of business
Any potential business or contract with The Chocolate Buffet Company is subject to our current terms and conditions. By entering in to an agreement with us, it is deemed that the customer has read, understood and agreed to our terms and conditions as set out below. The Chocolate Buffet Company reserves the right to occasionally update and amend these terms and conditions so please do check regularly for any modifications.
Delivery charges and information
The standard delivery charge for mainland UK for the table favour gifts and centre pieces will be just £6.95, delivery approximately 2-5 working days from the dispatch date. Orders for Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Highlands and Scottish Islands please contact us for a quotation. Please note that due to the nature of our business we are unable to deliver outside of the UK, to PO Box or BFPO addresses. When ordering our products The Chocolate Buffet Company recommend that you take into account fluctuations in seasonal temperature conditions (particularly in the summer months) that may affect the appearance or condition of the chocolate. All deliveries will be made via the Royal Mail ‘signed for’ service or by local courier (usually Monday to Friday 8am – 6pm) and therefore will require accurate delivery details and an agreement that there will be someone available to accept the goods and supply a signature to confirm the delivery. We regret we are unable to specify delivery times. Any further re delivery charges incurred, due to the unavailability of someone to accept the goods, will be the responsibility of the customer. We cannot be held responsible for actual delivery dates by the courier but we can give you an estimated delivery date. No cancellations or returns will be considered on personalised products so please be sure to double check that the spelling, dates and all other relevant information given is correct before placing your order. The Chocolate Buffet Company will accept no liability for any delays in delivery that may be outside of our control e.g. postal strikes, seasonal and bank holiday dates etc.

Only then, with our prior agreement, will we accept returns within 7 days of the original delivery date. It is advisable when returning an order to us to use recorded delivery; however, The Chocolate Buffet Company will not be liable for any returns postage. As most of our merchandise is handmade bespoke products it is at the discretion of The Chocolate Buffet Company with regards to refunds or exchanges. Please note that chocolate is classed as perishable goods and is therefore exempt from the distance selling regulations (2000).
Due to our particularly busy wedding and event seasons and to ensure stock availability, we would advise our customers to place an order well in advance of the event date. Lead times of approximately 4 – 6 weeks would be the ideal but we would always endeavour, where possible, to prioritise orders that may be required sooner. For urgent orders please do contact us for a potential estimated dispatch date but please bear in mind it may be subject to our current production schedule. Products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time, including after you have placed your order. In the unlikely event your order cannot be fulfilled, we will contact you and offer a suitable alternative.
Please be aware that there may be some slight variations in colour tone from that viewed from our website due to our customer’s individual monitor screen settings. Also, as our products are all individually handmade, there is also the possibility that some designs may differ slightly but we do try to describe and create our products as accurately as possible.
The Chocolate Buffet Company would like to stress that some of our chocolates may contain nuts and/or nut products. There is also the possibility of cross contamination during the manufacturing process, transportation or storage. Therefore, The Chocolate Buffet Company will accept no liability in the case of those who may suffer from an allergic reaction from nuts, nut products or any other ingredients. Some of our chocolate may also be unsuitable for those who suffer reactions from soya, milk, gluten and wheat.
A £100 booking deposit is required to secure your chosen date for the chocolate buffet. This is non refundable but may be transferable subject to the availability of the new requested date.
The full outstanding balance for a chocolate buffet will be required 6 weeks prior to your event date. Any funds not cleared after this agreed time may render the contract of business invalid.We reserve the right to apply surcharges to any additional alterations made by the client to the original contract.
Chocolate buffet table cancellations
No refunds will be granted unless cancellation is received in writing by the party organiser 28 days prior to event date; however, we may be able to transfer to a new date subject to availability. We are not obliged to refund any monies after this period.
Standard hire time
Standard hire time for the chocolate buffet is a maximum of 2.5 hours but may possibly be extended at an additional charge. This does not include the setting up time (approx 45 minutes) and the dismantling of the chocolate buffet table.
Travel costs will be incurred if the venue for the chocolate buffet is outside of our selected area, an estimate can be provided for your particular location so please call for further details. However, a round trip of 40 miles is automatically included into the package price. Any further additional costs including tolls, parking charges over night accommodation etc shall be deemed the financial responsibility of the client.
It is the client’s duty to communicate with the venue organisers as to the suitability of accommodating the chocolate buffet. The location of the table is of paramount importance – away from windows and particularly hot radiators, also preferably positioned in a quite area not too close in proximity to the party guests. Unobstructed access into the venue will be necessary to allow transportation of the chocolate buffet equipment into the function room via a sack trolley. A 6ft sturdy rectangle table will be required dressed with a white table cloth, if this is not possible please let us know in advance to ensure we make other arrangements. A 2ft space either side of table is necessary for staff access. For health and safety reasons, a power source approximately 2-3 metres from the table would be the ideal.
Set up times
Our staff will arrive approximately 45 minutes before the agreed commencement time of the chocolate buffet to set up the table display. Whilst we make every effort to ensure our punctual arrival at the venue, we cannot accept liability for late delays caused by poor access to the site or circumstances beyond our control caused by third parties.
Secure online payments
The Chocolate Buffet Company will undertake the necessary security measures to ensure safe online payments and we do not retain any of our customer’s card details. All card payments processed online are encrypted.
The Chocolate Buffet Company will not sell or disclose any of our customer’s personal details to any third party; all information held will be strictly confidential. The information we collect will only be used for the process of customer’s orders and for our own website marketing purposes. We acknowledge and respect our customer’s right to privacy. The Chocolate Buffet Company reserves the right to use any images or testimonials for promotional purposes.
The client agrees to pay The Chocolate Buffet Company for all expenses incurred due to the damage or loss of any equipment whilst hosting a chocolate buffet. The loss of earnings may also be required if we are unable to fulfil existing bookings.The Chocolate Buffet Company accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage to the client or any third party whilst attending any function.
The Chocolate Buffet Company has 5m public liability insurance, holds a level 2 food hygiene certificate and all of our electrical lighting equipment has been PAT tested.
This contract shall be governed by English law in the courts of England.
All content included on our website such as text, graphics, logos and images are the property of The Chocolate Buffet Company. It is prohibited to use, reproduce, modify or distribute any content from our printed marketing material or the website unless with prior arrangement.
The Chocolate Buffet Company reserves the right to take photographs at any function we attend, which may be used on the website for promotional purposes.
